Located in the heart of Los Angeles, La Louisanne is a vibrant Creole and Cajun restaurant and bar that invites diners on an authentic culinary journey straight from Louisiana. This charming spot offers a rich tapestry of flavors, with a menu showcasing timeless Southern classics and Creole favorites that are expertly crafted to satisfy every craving for bold, soulful cuisine.
Step inside and you're greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere where live jazz softly fills the air, creating the perfect backdrop to enjoy your meal without having to raise your voice. The ambiance strikes a harmonious balance between lively and relaxed, making it ideal for a casual dinner, date nights, or even engaging in lively conversation over drinks.
At the heart of La Louisanne’s menu is a feast of delights such as the Creole Platter, a sampler brimming with rich gumbo, jambalaya, red beans, and crispy fried chicken that transports you directly to the bayous. The Seafood File' Gumbo is a standout, infused daily with jumbo shrimp and seasoned to perfection—a silky, hearty bowl that comforts the soul. Fried catfish, stuffed pork chops, and succulent oxtails bring depth and heartiness, while dishes like Oyster Bienville offer a luscious blend of shrimp, crab, and mushrooms in a decadent sauce.
For lovers of shrimp, La Louisanne shines with options like Jumbo Shrimp Stouffee, sautéed in a rich, special étouffée sauce, or the vibrant Shrimp Creole, bathed in a tangy red Creole sauce that excites the palate. Meat aficionados can indulge in broiled offerings, including filet mignon flavored with Creole seasoning or the perfectly grilled New York steak, often paired with drawn butter and lemon-drenched jumbo shrimp for that classic Southern surf-and-turf experience.
Don’t miss the Southern Fried Chicken and Red Beans—a beloved staple that has regulars coming back on Mondays and Thursdays, praised not only for its crisp, golden exterior but for the soulful, slow-cooked flavors within. End your meal on a sweet note with a homey slice of Peach Cobbler, a Southern dessert classic that leaves you with a warm, nostalgic glow.
Beyond the food, La Louisanne is known for its spirited bar scene. Signature cocktails like the Cadillac Margarita and the electric Blue Lagoon pack a punch that complements the hearty fare perfectly. Though some patrons have noted the bar service can be leisurely, the potent drinks and convivial atmosphere more than make up for it, especially during open mic nights or lively game days when the room fills with energy.
Customers consistently praise the restaurant's authenticity and the genuinely welcoming vibe cultivated by the staff. Whether it’s the attentive service, the live jazz performing softly in the background, or the community feel where Saints fans mingle with Rams supporters, La Louisanne stands out as a beacon of Creole culture in Los Angeles. While prices can add up—especially with soda priced at $3.50 without refills—the quality and experience justify the indulgence.
In essence, La Louisanne is more than a restaurant—it’s a flavorful embrace of Louisiana’s culinary soul, paired with an ambiance where music, culture, and comfort food converge seamlessly. If you treasure rich, spicy dishes served with warmth and a side of smooth jazz, this is your go-to spot in L.A. to relax, feast, and savor the spirit of the South.

Food was great. Service was awesome. Sodas had no free refill. Otherwise all was good. Very welcoming environment and staff. Live jazz in the bar. Music not too loud, we were able to have a conversation without yelling over dinner. The service was awesome and the food was great. Price adds up especially when sodas are $3.50 each and no free refills. Fried clams were good but not a $10.50 worthy amount.
Good food and good cheer, felt like Louisiana even with the Rams supporters (Saints fans can never forgive the Rams). I wanted the okra gumbo but none available on the weekends, so seafood it was... With my fried oyster po-boy, I asked for potato salad but they gave me fries by accident and that was just fine because those fries were very very good. Service was pretty relaxed but still faster than NOLA, and both Marquisha and Miss Kimberly were very friendly. All and all a good experience but not cheap -- WORD TO THE WISE: for drink I got a Coke on ice and didn't think to check price on menu or ask to see if refills were covered. Those two cokes were $6.50 each -- good thing I didn't ask for a refill, it would have been more than the po-boy. Get water!!!!!
Ok, the bar is beyond slow but when your drinks arrive they will hit you like three punches to the face. People, atmosphere, the game on point. Delicious $2 fried chicken and red beans and rice. ...gets me here every Monday and Thursday. Did I mention the open mic night or the live Jazz? The Spot for pretty girls on a budget that like to get their groove on.
I am glad to have chosen to have lunch here. Do they play oldies? Yes! Is the atmosphere for an older crowd? Yes! But the food was amazing, hot and flavorful. It was clean, cool and the staff was courteous. The entrance took a walk around the whole building to find. If you do not appreciate an older culture, go to Disneyland.
Everything from there was really really good. The food was superb. A bit pricey but it was really good. even the parking valet service guy was really good. I will definitely be coming back.
La Louisiana is a great place for food and live entertainment. The food was good and I enjoyed my meal and the entertainment, but the server was good, but the service was slow not enough staff. I still recommend people to visit this place the food is delicious.
Wonderful Louisiana/ New Orleans Cuisine Experience When I got inside the restaurant, I was charmed by the ambience and the story telling decoration. Reception lady was efficient and there was no wait at all. We tried out the stuffed crab and Seafood platter, it well represents New Orleans flavors. My favorite part was their fried chicken, perfect crunch, juicy and tasty. The collard greens were absolutely delicious. Team member Jennifer was amazing, she definitely is one of a kind. She would notice your needs before you even ask. We missed out the jazz show since it’s Tuesday. We are so ready to come back again!
